If my understanding is correct, they're a forgettable car even in their home market.

I’d understand if it was a convertible. Terrible, yes, but convertible terrible.

Idk, but I think the Tiguan sells pretty well everywhere .
I wouldn’t call it forgettable.

They had their moment around the turn of the century, when they were new and under warranty, they were certainly decent cars. Don't think anyone is really collecting them now, though.

Wow. That is really weird.

I would

Seen a surprising amount of these.

The current gen is pretty great. It’s quite comfortable, and roomy for it’s class. It’s not fast, but it’s not supposed to be. If I had to get a midsize crossover, that would be the one.
![]() 09/20/2019 at 17:49 |

Exactly. Midsize crossover.
Why not get a Golf (or Golf estate)?
And when you absolutetly need a tiguan, why not buy it from Skoda?

Yeah, but how many of us on here lust after quirky, bad cars from over there? Sometimes different is fascinating.

France was the co-creator of the Concorde. Duh.

I would.
Love a 300M.

Not my cup of tea but there’ s 11 for sale on autoscout24.
In Austria, Germany, Italy, France, Holland, etc...

300M were officially sold in Europe through the Chrysler dealer network, as were the earlier New Yorker and Eagle Vision. They aren’t even absurdly rare, you do see them every now and then.
European spec New Yorker for reference.

Because America, plus Skoda grills are... You know the Allegro Vanden Plas?

I do now..
It’s not just A merica, the plague is here, too. A nd i’m a branded kid. Everyday I see people losing their ability to drive because they sit a bit higher. Seriously makes me crazy when they can’t park the Q2 because they think they have a big car now.
And I can’t think of any good reason to own one other than that everybody else has one too. So I always get angry for noo reason

As a boring daily, I 100% would get a crossover over a normal car, provided I could have a fun car on the side. The ingress/egress is worth it alone, plus they generally don’t handle any worse than economy tuned sedans/wagons.
![]() 09/20/2019 at 18:23 |

They’re actually not that uncommon in Europe. Nowadays they’re usually bought by people that want something that looks expensive but somehow can’t afford a large german car..

Of the cab-forward LH cars, I’ve always thought the 300M was the best one. It looked better than the LHS and Intrepid, and it seemed to have the best balance of performance and refinement. If I recall correctly, the 300M was supposed to be marketed under the Eagle marque and was intended to be exported to Europe.

So you mean I’m too young to get it?
Handling probably not. But fuel economy, insurance, and wear items all cost more .

I’m 25, I’m just not a luddite.

Stuck in the past, uses the phrase “They don’t make them like they used to!” in a positive manor.

Correct, it would have been the second generation Eagle Vision, but the decision was made to kill the Eagle marque just as it was being made ready to launch, so it became a Chrysler instead.

This instantly reminded me of a photo I took back in 2008.
I t’s the same kind of person that would bring this to Augsburg, Germany of all places:

I’ve only driven one once, but it felt like a spaceship. So large, and round. I would could see the appeal of the in a market where big cars are rare

This I did not know. In this context it almost makes sense. If you do want a plain Jane full size ish sedan, it’s not a segment Europe really fulfillsas a s well as America.
I thought it was passionately grey imported. That would he a whole different story.

Is this quirky?
I'd like a Twingo in Australia. Not a bad car. But a quirky one. An unlikely import.

At least that has some sort of weirdness to it!

Haha this has gone over my head. Are you saying this is the concorde of cars?
![]() 09/20/2019 at 22:23 |

I guess it is in France?

At the time it made perfect sense, since executive cars were still in demand. Almost all manufacturers offered one in the 1990s . Even the Buick Park Avenue made it over here. The Americans obviously had the advantage of offering big ger engines for the money (which also made them prohibitively expensive to run) since other makes usuall y only offered a 2.0L I4 up to a 3.0L V6.

Yes. It is literally a Chrysler Concorde.
